Frequently Asked Questions
What does DHP stand for?
DHP was first named Distant Hedges as far back as 1996, within a University Business Project - but as we manage both Home and Garden Projects, DHProjects was chosen as the corporate name.
What kind projects do you undertake yourselves?
Recently we have completed many one-off garden tidy - ups, all of which have resulted in regular maintenance requests from satisfied clients. We have then been entrusted with additional projects, e.g. external paint work, preservatives to huts and fences etc.
We will always recommend specialist contractors when projects are beyond our skills and knowledge.
Do you have a link / contact with many specialist contractors?
Yes, we have worked with many, within our own homes and beyond. We maintain a link across all trades.
How do you choose them?
Our Criteria: Local, Personable, Long Established, Insured, and with References and where possible, Members of Federations.
How many estimates do you obtain?
We may obtain more than one estimate for small projects and at least two for larger projects.
What do you charge?
Category 1: Projects that DHP undertake ourselves: - e.g. Garden projects for example - an agreed fee for a one-off tidy up and an hourly rate for regular maintenance.
Category 2: Projects that require specialist contractors:-
Once a contractor is appointed - a fixed fee or a % of final cost or an hourly rate, agreed at outset, depending upon the scale of the project and timetable for completion.
We would be delighted to receive your call. Thank you for visiting DHProjects Edinburgh.
